Felipe Amaral nominated for 2015 UNM Faculty of Color Awards in the Mentorship category

April 9, 2015

Each year, the Project for New Mexico Graduates of Color (PNMGC) hosts the UNM Faculty of Color Awards, which gives students and peers the opportunity to recognize the outstanding work of UNM faculty, staff, and teaching assistants in the areas of mentorship, commitment to research, community engagement, and teaching excellence. The UNM Faculty of Color Awards acknowledge that UNM faculty, staff, and teaching assistants of color often go above and beyond their paid expectations to contribute to the success of students of color while serving the entire UNM campus and greater New Mexico community.

Felipe Amaral, Instructional Media Specialist at the Prevention Research Center was nominated in the Mentorship category for his work mentoring other students of color at UNM and in the community. The Mentorship award recognizes an individual who has offered academic and leadership guidance or support that has positively impacted students’ educational experiences.
