Biography

Linda Beltran, MS

Science Research Administrator, Prevention Research Center

Linda joined the Division for Prevention and Population Sciences in 2002 as a Science Research Administrator. Linda works on the Prevention Research Center (PRC) projects funded by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC). Linda provides leadership and management of collaborative research initiatives, evaluation activities and education/training support to the PRC. Linda has experience with human subject research requirements and submission of grants and reports. Linda partners with the Indian Health Service – Health Promotion Initiative to disseminate culturally appropriate physical activities for American Indian and Alaska Native Communities called Physical Activity Kit (PAK): Staying on the Active Path in Native Communities: A Lifespan Approach. Before joining UNM, Linda worked in both environmental health and public health arenas as a Program Development Coordinator for Scott County Health Department/Iowa and as a Senior Researcher for the Institute of Rural & Environmental Health at the University of Iowa, specializing in occupation exposure to pesticides.
