Thank you for visiting the website of the University of New Mexico (UNM) Prevention Research Center (PRC) and the Division of Prevention and Population Sciences. We are a part of the School of Medicine at the UNM Health Sciences Center (HSC) in Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA.

We are proud to be one of the CDC's 26 Prevention Research Centers and to be recognized as a Center of Excellence.

The UNM PRC serves as a leader in prevention research, prioritizes community engagement, is committed to education and training, and is dedicated to disseminating evidence-based research. The Center is home to more than twenty-five different projects that focus on prevention with the goal of improving health outcomes for individuals and communities. The PRC offers the infrastructure and collaboration necessary to conduct community-engaged work in health promotion, disease prevention, dissemination and implementation of research, education, social marketing, health communication, and policy and systems change. This multidisciplinary team of faculty and staff works in partnership with under-represented and under-resourced communities in every county in New Mexico. Our research and other projects are funded by a variety of federal, state, and foundation grants and contracts.
